Generating Reports

The RUFUS Race Manager (RRM) offers users the ability to generate reports from various views within the software. This allows event organizers and timing officials to capture the data they need and share it effectively.

Report Generation in RRM

Currently, reports can be generated directly from each view by using the export button displayed at the top of each grid. This includes views such as Race-Result View, Checkpoint-Race View, Participant Grid, and more. The export function captures the information shown in the grid, making it easy to extract data with the applied filters and customizations.

The available export formats include:

  • CSV: Useful for further data analysis, importing to spreadsheets, and creating custom charts.

  • PDF: Ideal for generating shareable reports that preserve the format and are easy to distribute among stakeholders.

Key Features

  • Customized Data Export: The export button allows users to capture only the filtered or grouped data currently displayed on their screen. For instance, if a user has applied filters to view only a specific age group or gender, the report generated will reflect those criteria. This flexibility ensures that reports are highly relevant and tailored to the user’s requirements.

  • Grid-Based Exporting: The export functionality is embedded into every data grid across the different views in RRM, allowing users to generate reports from almost any perspective in the system—whether it's the overall race results, specific participant details, or checkpoint-based passings.

Future Developments

This is a basic implementation of reporting, and future releases of RRM will introduce more advanced reporting features, including:

  • Enhanced Editing Options: Users will be able to customize report layouts, choose which columns to include, and format the data presentation to meet their needs.

  • Advanced Design Templates: Pre-designed templates for generating professional-quality reports, ideal for presenting to event stakeholders, sponsors, and participants.

The current version of the reporting tools in RRM provides a solid foundation for sharing and analyzing event data. As the system continues to grow, more comprehensive and customizable reporting options will become available, enhancing the user’s ability to communicate the results effectively.
