Diplomas

The Event Diplomas section allows you to create and publish personalized diplomas for your event participants. These diplomas appear in the RUFUS Event App, inside each athlete’s race results.

You can now design diplomas in two ways:

  1. New blank diploma – a fully manual, custom-designed diploma using the Diploma Designer.

  2. Automatic diploma ⚡ – generated automatically when your event has enough design data (banner, logo, sponsor logos, etc.).

Diploma Types

New Blank Diploma

This option lets you design your own diploma from scratch.

When you click New blank diploma, an empty diploma block appears in your list. A diploma needs at minimum:

  • A background image (PNG/JPG, up to 3MB)

  • Published status turned on

If no background is added, the diploma block will show a warning: ❗ No background file

Each diploma can be made available:

  • For the whole event, or

  • For a specific race

Automatic Diploma

Automatic diplomas are created instantly by RUFUS Cloud when your event contains enough design elements:

  • Event banner

  • Event logo

  • Sponsor logos (optional but recommended)

  • Event colors and visual theme (derived automatically)

The system generates a clean, high-quality diploma PNG file without requiring any manual editing.

You can:

  • Download the automatic diploma (PNG)

  • Publish/unpublish it

  • Choose whether it applies to the whole event or a specific race

Accessing the Diploma Designer

  1. Go to your event in the RUFUS Cloud platform.

  2. Navigate to the Diplomas tab in the event details.

  3. Create a new diploma, to add a new diploma to the list.

This will create a new diploma (blank or Automatic) entry in your diploma list.

Designing Your Diploma

Diploma Designer

To begin designing your diploma:

  1. Hover over your newly created diploma and click the edit button (pencil icon).

  2. The Diploma Designer will open in a new window. Note: The Diploma Designer is optimized for desktop use only.

Uploading Background Images

  • Upload your background image by clicking the upload area.

  • Supported file formats: PNG or JPG, with a maximum file size of 3MB.

Adding Dynamic Fields

You can customize your diploma with dynamic fields that will be completed with participants data when the diploma is generated. Simply drag and drop the desired fields onto your diploma design. Available fields are:

  • Name

  • Lastname

  • Gender

  • Age group

  • Club

  • Team

  • Bib

  • Race

  • Racetime

  • Pace

  • Global rank

  • Gender rank

  • Age group rank

Custom Text Fields

In addition to dynamic fields, you can add custom text fields to personalize your diplomas further.

Styling Fields

All fields are fully customizable:

  • Fonts: Multiple fonts available.

  • Size: Choose from different sizes.

  • Colors: Customize the text color.

Saving and Previewing

Once satisfied with your diploma:

  • Click the save button to store your design.

  • Click the preview & download icon to preview and review your diploma design.

Automatic Diploma Generation Rules (⚡)

An automatic diploma will appear when your event includes:

  • A banner

  • A logo

  • At least one sponsor logo (optional but improves appearance)

If these elements are missing, the automatic diploma option may not be available.

Event design elements (marked with ⚡ in the Design & Info tab) count toward automatic diploma generation.

Publishing Diplomas

When your diploma is ready:

  • Toggle the Published button in the diploma list.

Once published, the diploma will be accessible to participants through the RUFUS Event App, visible in their detailed race results.
