Reading RFID Chips During the Race

Reading RFID chips with the RUFUS Timing App is straightforward and enhances timing accuracy and efficiency. Follow these steps to read RFID chips during an active race.

Step 1: Start an Active Timing Session

  • Ensure that you are within an active timing session in the RUFUS Timing App. You cannot read RFID chips unless a session is active.

Step 2: Point and Trigger the RFID Sled

  • Point the RFID Sled: Position the RFID sled towards the participants' RFID chips. Make sure that the sled is in close enough range for the chips to be read effectively.

  • Press the Trigger: Press the trigger button on the sled to begin reading RFID tags. The sled will automatically detect and read the tags, and the information will be displayed in the session passings list with a corresponding timestamp.

Confirmation of Successful Readings

  • Each successful reading will be reflected in the RUFUS Timing App with the chip code and timestamp.

  • You can confirm that the readings were successfully recorded as they appear on the passings list.
