Race Progress View
The Race Progress View in RUFUS Events App allows visitors to follow the current status of a race while it is taking place.
Instead of showing only final results, this view provides a live overview of race activity, including leaders, race clock, athlete distribution, checkpoint progress, and, when available, predictive tracking on the map.

Purpose of the Race Progress View
The Race Progress View is designed to help spectators, athletes, clubs, teams, and organizers understand what is happening during the race.
It gives visitors a quick answer to questions such as:
Who is leading?
How many athletes have started?
How many athletes are still in race?
How many athletes have finished?
Which checkpoints have received passings?
Where are the leading athletes estimated to be?
This makes the event easier to follow before final results are available.
Accessing the Race Progress View
To access the Race Progress View:
Open the event in RUFUS Events App.
Navigate to the Leaderboards tab.
Select the race you want to follow.
Open the Live Progress view.
If the selected race has published progress data, the Live Progress view will be available.
If the race also has a valid published course, the Map view may also be available.
Live Progress Information
The Live Progress view may display:
Race clock
Female leader
Male leader
Athletes not started
Athletes currently in race
Athletes finished
Checkpoint counters
Timing point progress
Updated race status
The exact information shown depends on the race configuration, timing points, published progress data, and available passings.
Leader Cards
When leader information is available, the Race Progress View can show the current female and male leaders.
Leader cards may include:
Bib number
Athlete name
Race time
Last checkpoint or finish location
This gives visitors a fast overview of the race front without needing to browse the full leaderboard.
Athlete Distribution
The Race Progress View can summarize how many athletes are in each race state.
This may include:
Not started
In race
Finished
These counters help visitors understand the general flow of the race and how far the event has progressed.
Checkpoint Progress
When the race includes intermediate timing points, the Race Progress View can show checkpoint counters.
These counters indicate how many expected passings have been received at each point, such as start, intermediate checkpoints, or finish.
This helps visitors and organizers monitor the progress of the race across the course.
Map and Predictive Tracking
When the race has a valid published course, the Map view can be shown together with Race Progress.

The Map view can display the race course, checkpoint locations, and estimated athlete positions based on the published race progress data.
Predictive tracking may include:
Course route
Checkpoint markers
Leading athletes
Estimated position on the course
Distance completed
Distance remaining
Race time
Last checkpoint
Next checkpoint
Predictive finish information, when available
The Map view is only displayed when the race has enough course and tracking data to provide a valid predictive tracking experience.
Athlete Search in Race Progress
Visitors can search by athlete name or bib number while viewing race progress.
When predictive tracking is available, searched athletes may be added to the tracking view, allowing visitors to follow both the race leaders and specific athletes of interest.
Automatic Updates
Race Progress can update automatically while visitors are viewing the event.
When new progress data is published from RUFUS Race Manager, RUFUS Events App can refresh the visible information without requiring a full page reload.
This helps create a more live experience for spectators following the race from their phone, tablet, or computer.
Race Progress After the Race
Race Progress can remain visible after a race is no longer live.
When progress data has been published, the view can still be used as a historical or final overview of the race flow.
Live-only indicators, such as the live race clock, are shown only while the race is currently live.
When the Race Progress View is Available
The Race Progress View is available when the selected race has published race progress data.
The Map view is available only when the selected race also has a valid published course and predictive tracking can be calculated.
If progress data has not been published, or if the race has no valid progress information, the Race Progress View may not be shown.
Benefits of the Race Progress View
The Race Progress View helps:
Spectators follow the race before final results are available.
Organizers provide a stronger live event experience.
Clubs and teams monitor their athletes during the event.
Visitors understand the race status at a glance.
Longer races become easier to follow through checkpoints and map tracking.

The Race Progress View brings the live layer of the event into RUFUS Events App, making the race easier to understand, easier to follow, and more engaging for everyone watching.
